I was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, AL. I started working in the theatre as a child at Theatre Tuscaloosa. I worked both onstage and backstage and quickly decided that working behind the scenes was the job for me.
I went to the Alabama School of Fine Arts for high school where I also interned for the Town and Gown Theatre in downtown Birmingham, AL.
I went to college in NYC at New York University and majored in Technical Production.
In 2000 I went to Greensboro, NC to attend graduate school where I majored in Scenography at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. As a Scenographer I do lighting, costume, and scenic design, but lighting is my specialty.
Over the last 30 years I have worked as a designer, stage manager, crew member, master electrician, prop master, technical director, tech theatre intern, actor, mentor, and teacher.
Currently I am working as a freelance lighting designer based out of Alabama. I also work as a guest lecturer for college and high school theatre classes around the south east.
Please see my resume and vitae pages for more detailed information about my work and experience.
