Technical Director/Faculty/Lighting Designer Fall 2007/Spring 2008/Summer 2008
Execute Scenic, lighting and Sound designs for 5 show season at Theatre Tuscaloosa. Teach
Stagecraft and practicum workshop classes. Supervise staff, students and volunteers in the
Scene Shop. Work with the college to provide set, sound, and lighting needs for various meetings,
graduations, productions and other school functions in the theatre. Maintain the theatre space and
all of the equipment within it. Provide lighting designs for a minimum of 4 Theatre Tuscaloosa
productions per season as well as for various
budgets for the Scene Shop and productions. Recruit and train stage managers and crews for all
productions. Work with Executive Director on student and volunteer recruiting, theatre and
rehearsal scheduling, and all other aspects of technical training and production.
Assistant Technical Director Summer 2007
Supervise practicum students working in the Scene Shop. Instruct them in proper tool usage
and safety. Teach the basics of scenic construction and painting techniques through hands-on
methods while assembling the sets, sound, and lighting for Theatre Tuscaloosa productions.
Guest Lecturer/Demonstrator Fall 2006, Spring 2007
Gave lectures with onstage demonstrations on lighting and design to Professor Michael
Carr’s Theatre Appreciation and Stage Craft classes.
Lighting Workshop
Smokey Joe’s Café Spring 2005
Worked with theatre department’s students and Professor Jonathan Awori guiding them
through the design process for their production of Smoky Joe’s Café. Acted as their
advisor from beginning of project through tech week.
Guest Lecturer/Lighting Consultant
Spoke with students about technical theatre and design work. Worked with student
designers and technicians to light their production of Children of Eden in the Spring of
2009, and their production of The Sound Of Music in the Spring of 2008. Held a workshop
on lighting equipment maintenance.

Gave lectures to teacher Caroline Raymond’s drama classes about majoring in theatre in
college, life in the arts after college, and my personal experiences in educational and
professional theatre.
